The opportunity for community consultation on this project has now concluded.

The resources on this site will continue to be available for research and access.


Grey-headed Flying-foxes have been visiting Orange for about ten years. During these summer-time visits, the Flying-foxes have set up temporary 'camps' in a number of different locations around Orange.

Orange City Council is developing a management plan to guide its work with Flying-fox camps in Orange.

An independent environment consultant (ecosure) has been appointed to develop the draft plan. A step in this process includes finding out more about community attitudes.

The closing date for the community survey is 15 November 2020.

This survey will take about 10 minutes to complete.

    Orange City Council is interested in the level of awareness among Orange residents about Flying-foxes.

    To help shape a management plan, this survey is asking about attitudes to prospective management strategies.
