Consultation has concluded
Orange City Council is asking the region’s seniors to share what workshops and programs they would like to see happening at the new Seniors Village Hub.
The Seniors Village Hub is a place for seniors to take part in activities, maintain health and wellbeing, socialise with likeminded people, or simply enjoy a cuppa and a chat with friends.
The Village Hub is already operating at the Senior Citizens and Pensioners Centre (Nguluway Ngurang) with activities such as board games, art classes, Tai Chi and Scrabble, as well as tea and coffee facilities for people to sit and relax, however, we are looking to ramp up the Hub’s offering to provide a wider range of social, cultural, physical, educational and artistic activities designed to build social connections and maintain mental and physical health.
We want the Village Hub to be a hive of activity, where people can take part in interesting workshops, learn new things and share their skills, interests and experiences with each other in a supportive and resilient community.
To help decide the way forward, Council is inviting seniors and retirees, and carers, to share their opinions and ideas, and suggest activities the hub could offer.
Contribute to the conversation and let us know what is important to you as an older resident of Orange. Council is also looking for people to join a steering committee to guide the Village Hub in future.
