Consultation has concluded

The NSW Government has unveiled plans to make $930,667.00 available to fund community infrastructure projects in the Orange local government area in Round 3 of the Stronger Country Communities Fund.

The government has changed the grants application process of the latest round of funding.

  • Opening the round to receiving applications directly from eligible community groups who will be responsible for delivering projects if successful
  • Extending the funding period from two years to three years to allow applicants sufficient time to deliver projects
  • Applicants will be required to provide evidence of community consultation and support for projects in the application
  • At least 50 per cent of the Round Three funding available in the LGA will be allocated to projects supporting young people

Orange City Council has assembled a list of projects and is inviting the community to vote for the projects they believe to be the most important. The council will then submit an application to the NSW Government, who will make the final decisions about which projects to fund. The minimum grant amount is still $50,000.

The deadline for voting is Thursday 29 August. This date will council consider the results before meeting the government's deadline for applications on 27 September
