Share your feedback on Council's disability services

Orange City Council is seeking community feedback on residential disability accommodation in Orange.

We want to better understand the needs, expectations and priorities of people with disability, their families, carers and the wider community.

Council currently operates three supported independent living homes in Orange, providing housing for up to 11 residents which are staffed by 13 full-time equivalent staff (including casuals). Two of these homes are Specialist Disability Accommodation properties designed for people with higher support needs.

Residents receive personalised support tailored to their individual needs, preferences and goals.

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, Council regularly reviews its services to ensure they continue to meet community needs.

The disability services sector has changed significantly over time, including changes to funding, regulations, workforce requirements, community expectations and the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Feedback from the community will help Council better understand the needs, expectations and priorities of people who use, access or have an interest in disability services.

This feedback will be considered alongside information about how the services are currently operating, the resources needed to deliver them, future demand and broader changes across the disability sector to help shape future recommendations.
