HHalmost 3 years agoMake it easier to cross Kite Street on foot. It would also be great to have a designated bike lane.
It is really hard to navigate the roundabouts. My mother have difficulty walking and for her it is hard to walk all the way up to the pedestrian crossing on Kite Street. A designated bike lane that are separated from cars would also be great.
0 comment2wgillard-3hkcjj9almost 3 years agoKeep beautiful old trees & architecture. If you widen footpaths or close roads you MUST provide more close car parking. Do quality work!
0 comment0Jaialmost 3 years agoDon’t take away more parking than has already been lost under the auspices if “beautification”. Don’t cut down trees to put in car parks
0 comment0wwwalkeralmost 3 years agohave bicycle parking racks or trails
Have bicycle parking racks so people can safely cycle and park the bicycle and lock it up so it is not stolen. Bicycles take up much less parking than cars and are much faster than walking. There could be small bicycle trails if pedestrians or shops complain of too many bicycles. Bicycles also carry more than a pedestrian so the sales will go up increasing business. People could commute from home to buy one or two things then cycle home again. Everyone must lock up as there are many bicycle thieves in Orange. I have had a bicycle stolen and it was never found.
0 comment6JMayalmost 3 years agoOne footpath wider
Have the western footpath taken wider to allow some restaurants to overflow into the street in summer and possibly have a public seating area with small garden on the footpath

wwwalkeralmost 3 years agomore new shops with ecommerce
There are a lot of dead shops in Lords Place. It needs to be more attractive for shoppers and retailers with parking or clustering with similar shops to grow the area. Often two or three shops in similar trade help each other if they are side by side, e.g. food, clothing, office materials or outdoors shops. Ecommerce could help bring in customers from out of town.

0 comment1Caroline&Davidalmost 3 years agoOrange needs a place/places for people to sit/meet/eat that is off the highway. We need other attractions too besides food, wine and sport..
0 comment1Jtsharpalmost 3 years agoRemove ALL the parking, add the eating areas there but allow traffic to still flow through with "drop off" lanes for people 2 moving lanes.
Like some schools have "kiss and drop" lanes, allow this so that you can drop off people but NOT park, this would then mean that you would only need one lane for traffic each way. The additional space can then be used for outdoor seating. When thinking about outdoor seating please be practical about it... we are in Orange - I have no doubt that you are thinking seriously about how that can work. We have lovely days throughout the year (even in winter sometimes) so outdoor can be well used on the right days.
0 comment0Geminigail.almost 3 years agoSeriously. The biggest attraction in Orange is the wide streets. Leave them alone and concentrate on infrastructure (especially water).
Leave Lords Place (and all other streets) alone.
