NannaBethalmost 3 years agoThis area is vibrant, busy during the day & night. At night, in the warmer months, there could be dining on the sidewalks.

After beautifying the street it should be closed to traffic on the weekends to make way for day and night markets, Orange farmers markets, food vans and outdoor dining events, concerts, fun fairs, town wineries, Christmas market or a winter festival. This should become a piazza or town square where people can gather and want to come. On Monday morning it’s open for traffic again!

Have the western footpath taken wider to allow some restaurants to overflow into the street in summer and possibly have a public seating area with small garden on the footpath

Carparking needs to be street level

jedover 2 years agoadd an off-road completely separated bike lane
South-west orange has a great bike network but it ends on Kite Street behind the Big W carpark and goes nowhere. This would be a great chance to extend it up Lords Place to summer street/robertson park. Space on kite street could be gained by removing the left turn bay.

Leave Lords Place (and all other streets) alone.
0 comment0Caroline&Davidover 2 years agoOrange needs a place/places for people to sit/meet/eat that is off the highway. We need other attractions too besides food, wine and sport..
0 comment1Jtsharpover 2 years agoRemove ALL the parking, add the eating areas there but allow traffic to still flow through with "drop off" lanes for people 2 moving lanes.
Like some schools have "kiss and drop" lanes, allow this so that you can drop off people but NOT park, this would then mean that you would only need one lane for traffic each way. The additional space can then be used for outdoor seating. When thinking about outdoor seating please be practical about it... we are in Orange - I have no doubt that you are thinking seriously about how that can work. We have lovely days throughout the year (even in winter sometimes) so outdoor can be well used on the right days.
