Consultation has concluded

A long-term plan to gradually upgrade community facilities around Clifton Grove is being floated for community comment.

The 7 September Orange City Council meeting voted to put the new draft master plan for Clifton Grove on exhibition.

The plans include proposals for future development, routine maintenance and new projects.

Projects that were identified as priorities by the community include:

  • Beautification of Banjo Paterson Way - including a new corridor of exotic trees, maintenance and planting around the entrance sign, the installation of a pull-in parking bay for visitors, bus stops and bike racks and better access to the community noticeboard.
  • Upgrades to the Mud Hut - including planting of trees, installation of a fire pit and furniture.
  • General beautification of the neighbourhood including removal of fences between the end of bridle paths and road verges, replanting and weed removal along Summer Hill Creek and revegetation and improved connections with bridle paths.

Orange City Council’s Clifton Grove Community Committee chair, Cr Frances Kinghorne said the new draft masterplan was developed after local community consultation in 2021.

“In June 2021 Council asked the local community of Clifton Grove what it wanted to see happen over the next three years, while looking towards the next decade,” Cr Frances Kinghorne said.

“From this conversation a Draft Clifton Grove Masterplan was created. The next step sees the Council checking in with the community to see if the masterplan is on the right track.”

“There are some good ideas on the list. Council will now work with the community to see which are the most important to find funding support in Council budgets.

“I’m hoping residents will take the opportunities to have their say at a face-to-face community gathering or online.”

How to have you say:

The Draft Clifton Grove Masterplan will be exhibited for community feedback until 7 October 2022.
