This consultation has now concluded. A decision on which playgrounds will be built in the first round of work will be announced soon.

Orange City Council wants the community to vote on a short-list of locations for Orange’s newest playgrounds.

As part of its latest budget, Orange City Council decided to increase its spending on new playground construction for the next two years. The Council will spend $360,000 a year for the next two years.

The extra funds will let 3 new playgrounds be built and two existing playgrounds to be upgraded.

When new housing estates are built, spaces are set aside for local neighbourhood parks. So we already have a list of the best places for playground equipment to be installed.

What we want to hear about now is what the community thinks, to help develop a priority list.

The best way to get these new playgrounds built, is to start with the short-list.

We’ll also have another $360,000 to spend on playgrounds next financial year and will look to build the same number of projects then.

We also want to hear if there are any parks that should be added to future lists for a playground.
